The musical career of international recording artist, composer and guitarist
Sergio Caputo, now based in the California Bay Area, spans over 2 decades
and began in Europe with the overnight success of his first LP released
in 1983. With a unique style of jazz and latin-jazz infused pop, Sergio's
music defined a new genre of musical style that successfully bridged
the worlds of jazz and pop.
Sergio's prolific recording career produced 14 albums and numerous hits
released by major labels that topped the charts year after year with
which Sergio continued his experimentation of musical and lyrical expression,
affirming himself as both an accomplished author and producer as well
as guitarist and performer.
Prestigious collaborations in Sergio's career include those with Dizzy
Gillespie, Lester Bowie, Tony Scott, Mel Collins
(King Crimson), Tony Bowers (Simply Red), Enrico Rava and
Danilo Rea.
Sergio just released his new CD entitled "That Kind of Thing",
a guitar based Smooth Jazz album recorded in California, and is now
recording his next CD project to be released next year.
THAT KIND OF THING
"That Kind Of Thing" is Sergio Caputo's first album entirely
"Made in the U.S.A" and contains 10 tracks, a pinch of latin
spice, lots of emotion and one singular ambition: to be heard in every
corner of the world through the sole energy of his music. "That
Kind of Thing" is the instrumental album in which Sergio debuts
as a smooth jazz guitarist. This album is a particularly important accomplishment
to
Sergio as he relies entirely on his music to communicate his emotions,
transforming it into an international language that transcends literal
and cultural barriers worldwide.
